Erhard Ansorge founds the Spedition Ansorge in Kaufbeuren, Germany. Also in 1961, the first branch was opened in Hilden, Germany. Before that, he and his brother Richard Ansorge ran the company Spedition Gebrüder Ansorge for a number of years.

The headquarters in Kaufbeuren is continuously expanded. The fleet also grows steadily. Customer orders take Ansorge drivers and their trucks as far as Sweden, Spain, Greece, and Afghanistan.

From the mid 1980s, Ansorge begins offering combined road-rail transport. First, the concept of the rolling country road between Germany and Italy is tested. In this process, the truck and loading unit are driven onto the train wagon together. After a short time, only swap bodies that can be craned are loaded onto the rails without trucks.

After German Reunification, a branch is opened in Limbach-Oberfrohna (Chemnitz), Germany.

In 1993, the sole proprietorship is transformed into Spedition Ansorge GmbH & Co. KG. The Hilden branch is relocated to Neuss, Germany.

In 1994, a new site for the company headquarters is built in Biessenhofen (Allgäu), Germany. After successful completion of construction measures, the company’s headquarters is relocated from Kaufbeuren/Germaringen to Biessenhofen. In addition to spacious outdoor areas for the growing fleet, new storage areas as well as a workshop and a painting hall are available in Biessenhofen.

Ansorge moves into another branch in Singen am Hohentwiel and puts a fully automatic high-bay warehouse into operation there. At the time it goes live, it is one of the most modern of its kind in Europe.

At the “IAA” Commercial Vehicles Fair in Hanover, Ansorge and partner companies present the prototype of a fully electronic heavy-duty truck: The “ELIAS” semi-trailer tractor has a range of 200 km, a top speed of 80 km/h and can work with a regular permitted total weight of 40 (or 44 tons). The project is a cooperation between three Bavarian companies and funded by the Free State of Bavaria.

The logistics areas in Biessenhofen are expanded by a further 9,000 m²: The new building is built according to BEG55 with a high insulation standard, LED lighting in and around the hall, and a new photovoltaic system will be installed. SAP EWM is introduced for a dedicated customer business.
